From the ashes
Several years ago, I was a blogger. I blogged at two sites, zulyzu.com and sibeal.net. Blogs were still pretty new, and I blogged along with people who are now legends. I blogged back when Pirillo and Scoble could still read all of their comments and respond directly to them. When Wil WheatThins was the first celebrity blogger. That was a long time ago, kids. A lifetime in technology. When WordPress didn’t exist, and Movable Type was v1.5.
Ironically, I stopped blogging because I went to work for a blogging company, and never had time to read blogs, or blog my own. By the time that was done, I was pretty much just over the whole blogging thing.
I still love to write, though, and I still love to share information with people. I sort of mini-blog on Facebook, but as I began doing that more and more frequently, I realized I’d started to miss blogging. Ideas started forming in my head, and the concept of sacredfisher began to gel. It’s been months – I’ve tried several times on free sites, but they don’t give me the flexibility of having my own domain and host setup. So here I am, still very much under construction, but taking the leap nevertheless.
Fitting for Ash Wednesday… when we commit ourselves to the journey of rebirth, reminded of where we have come, and sent forth to 40 days of consideration of past, present, and future, till we arrive at a cave on Easter morning, apprehensive, unsure, wary of the next step… and as my dad says, “wondering if Jesus will see his shadow”.
So I begin my journey again, apprehensive, unsure, a little wary, wondering if someone will see this little light I’m trying to shine. I do hope you’ll walk along with me.
